Effective communication

According to Pearson’s Talent Lens website:

“While all engineers should have good communication skills, global engineers

face additional challenges, making effective communication an imperative.”

Debra Kraft, Careers Content Writer, Demand Media (2016)

Communication is an essential part of our lives. Even for babies, who cry to communicate their discomfort or displeasure.

A study done by Expert Market shows that:

"In 2022, 28% of workers cite poor communication as the reason for not being able to deliver work on time". As engineers, without effective communication, problems will occur, leading to inaccurate or wrong results.

For example, if a customer decides on a certain specification for the end product, and does not properly explain and specify his needs, the engineer may infer and assume, leading to the end result having a different result from what the customer wants. Therefore, it is only when there is effective communication amongst a team of engineers that complex issues can be resolve together.
